Because no two scars in the world
are ever alike
We work not on the mark left on the surface but on the tangled layers beneath the skin.
A doctor who knows how surgery is structured goes back to the cause of the scar first.
A scar is not about the surface, but its
layers.
We look at the pitted floor and the surface texture separately.
Looking again at what remains,

Understanding
First,
we understand the scar
Scars differ by cause, depth and skin type. Rather than repeating the same treatment, we first identify what kind of scar it is.
- CauseInjury, surgery, acne, burns, treatment complications
- DepthHow deep it reaches: epidermis, dermis or fat
- ShapeDepressed scars, hypertrophic scars, keloids, discolored scars
Surgery & scar
Surgical scars
make sense only when you know the surgery
- Incision and sutureThe cause of a scar lies in the surgery
Only by knowing how each surgery is incised and sutured can you see why a scar remains.
- Surgery and restorationWe have treated both together
Since 1995 Bonita has treated both plastic surgery and scar restoration.
