    Lasers reach only the epidermis and shallow dermis. The surface may smooth out, but a scar with a sunken floor stays as it is.

    Adhesion releaseThe cords pulling down

    Beneath a pitted scar is adhesion tissue holding the skin down. It must be released for the skin to rise.

    Fat stem cellsThe missing volume

    Sunken areas are filled with your own fat and stem cells. Lasers work only once the floor has been raised.

Surgical scar removal is combined with laser and regenerative treatment.

Bonita has used fat grafting for cosmetic and therapeutic purposes since it was still unfamiliar in Korea. Continuing to raise and regenerate deeply depressed areas, we have also applied combined regenerative treatment using stem cells to burn scars.

Cases where areas depressed by burns or accidents were restored can be seen in the before-and-after photos below.

Scar excision

For thick, tight burn scars, the scar tissue is excised and the edges are re-sutured so the skin regains its movement.

Adipose stem cell regenerative treatment

For burned skin that has become hard and thin, stem cells and fat are injected to restore softness and thickness.

Scar excision

For scars with clear borders, the scar is excised and sutured along the direction of the skin creases, turning a wide scar into a thin line.

Combined laser treatment

If redness, pigmentation or texture issues remain, we treat them in stages with 2–3 lasers matched to the type.

Recovery

  1. Right after treatment

    The wound is cleaned and stitched or dressed. Preventing infection comes first.

  2. During recovery

    After the stitches are removed, scar care begins with sun protection and moisturizing.

  3. As it settles

    This is when redness and firmness change. Laser or injection treatment is added if needed, and any remaining marks continue with restoration.

Recovery time and follow-up visits vary with the extent of treatment and your individual condition.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the colour of a burn scar come back to normal?
Color differences can be lightened with lasers, but skin borders and texture need separate restoration. We check the extent in consultation.
The scar has already settled. Is it too late?
It is not too late. Settled scars are treated with restoration that releases and fills tissue, and may need more steps than right after the injury.
I heard keloids get bigger if you operate on them.
A keloid can grow back if it is only excised. That is why laser and injection treatment are combined and progress is managed. The approach depends on your constitution and the area.
