A wide bridge is not simply a matter of the dorsum looking broad.
Wide nasal bones, or space remaining between them after hump removal, can make the bridge look flat and heavy.
Bonita's nasal bone narrowing (nasal osteotomy) considers the width and thickness of the bones and the extent of osteotomy. Rather than forcing the bridge down, it aims for a natural, defined bridge line.

Many East Asian noses have short, wide nasal bones, so refining the skin of the dorsum does not narrow the width. An osteotomy that moves the bones themselves is needed.
Lateral osteotomy alone may leave the nasal bones not fully brought together or leave a step-off, so medial and lateral osteotomy should be considered together. When a hump is also removed, the extent of osteotomy is matched to the amount removed.
The bridge width should be set in proportion to the alar width for a natural look.

There is swelling and bruising; the nasal splint stays on and cold compresses are used.
The splint and stitches are removed. While the main swelling subsides, avoid pressure on the nose such as from glasses.
As residual swelling in the tip subsides, the final shape appears.
