Nasal implant removal is not simply taking out the implant.

While an implant stays in for a long time, a capsule (contracted tissue) forms around it, and the skin and soft tissue often become thin or stretched.

Bonita's nasal implant removal takes the implant out safely and also considers the capsule and soft tissue, planning the shape of the nose after removal as well.

For You

If these concerns sound familiar

  • If the implant shows through or looks shifted
  • If the area around the nose turns red or inflammation keeps returning
  • If the skin around the implant looks thin or stretched
  • If you want to return to a natural nose
  • If the implant needs to be removed before revision

BONITA NOSE

Safety first, shape second

Why

Why is implant removal not simple extraction?

01

The capsule (contracted tissue) must be considered too

If only the implant is taken out and the surrounding capsule is left, the tissue can contract again or the nose can look unnatural. That is why we also decide whether to remove the capsule.

02

Loss of soft tissue support after removal matters

A long-standing implant has often stretched the skin and soft tissue, so removing it alone can make the tip sink or droop. How to reinforce the support structure must be considered together.

03

The approach depends on whether inflammation or infection is present

When inflammation or infection is present, the timing and method of removal and the timing of any later revision must be planned carefully for a safe recovery.

Process

The nose implant removal process

01

Implant and tissue analysis before removal

Nose design begins with accurate analysis

  • Check of implant type, position and how long it has been in place
  • Check of the capsule and any inflammation or infection
  • Analysis of skin and soft tissue thickness
  • Deciding whether support is needed after removal
  • Tailored removal plan
02

Implant removal and support reinforcement

Safe clearance matters more than simple extraction

  • Removal of the implant and contracted capsule
  • Reinforcing support with autologous tissue (such as ear cartilage) where needed
  • Clearing inflamed or infected tissue
  • Finishing with symmetry in mind
03

Tissue stabilisation and stage-by-stage recovery care

Results are completed during recovery

  • Tissue stabilisation and fixation care
  • Swelling and recovery care
  • Care to prevent recurrent inflammation
  • Follow-up system

Recovery

  1. Right after treatment

There is swelling and bruising; the nasal splint stays on and cold compresses are used.

  2. During recovery

The splint and stitches are removed. While the main swelling subsides, avoid pressure on the nose such as from glasses.

  3. As it settles

As residual swelling in the tip subsides, the final shape appears.

Recovery time and follow-up visits vary with the extent of treatment and your individual condition.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it enough just to take the implant out?
If only the implant is taken out and the surrounding capsule is left, the tissue can contract again or the nose can look unnatural. We decide on capsule removal and post-removal support together.
My nasal implant shows through. What can be done?
We consider reselecting the implant and reinforcing the supporting tissue, or removing it and rebuilding with your own tissue. An implant that shows through or can be felt often means its size or material does not fit, or the soft tissue covering it has thinned.
Where will the scar be?
For the nose, scars are mostly inside the nostrils or on the columella, and we manage them so they fade over time.
