Revision rhinoplasty is not simply touching up the part you dislike.

Previous surgery has often left cartilage lost or deformed and scar tissue settled in the skin and tissue, so revision has to start from different conditions than a first operation.

Bonita's revision rhinoplasty accurately assesses the remaining tissue and reinforces what is missing. The aim is to restore a safe, natural nose line.

For You

If these concerns sound familiar

  • If your nose looks different from how it first looked after a previous operation
  • If the implant shows through or looks shifted
  • If a tip that looks shortened or upturned concerns you
  • If asymmetry looks more noticeable than before
  • If you want a thorough consultation and analysis before revision

BONITA NOSE

Revision starts from different conditions than the first

Why

Why is revision rhinoplasty not a simple re-correction?

01

Revision starts from completely different conditions

Previous surgery has left adhesions and scar tissue. Approaching it the same way as a first operation makes the desired result hard to reach and can raise the risk of tissue damage.

02

Cartilage that has been lost needs to be reinforced

Repeated surgery often leaves too little of your own cartilage, so we also consider reconstruction using autologous tissue such as ear, septal or rib cartilage.

03

Skin and blood flow must be considered too

Blood flow in a revision area may be reduced, so forcing the procedure can lead to risks such as tissue damage. That is why planning puts safety first.

Process

How revision rhinoplasty proceeds

01

Analysis of anatomical causes and proportions

Nose design begins with accurate analysis

  • Check of previous surgical method and implant condition
  • Assessment of remaining cartilage and tissue adhesions
  • Analysis of skin thickness and blood flow
  • Analysis of symmetry and proportions
  • Tailored revision plan
02

Tailored correction centred on cartilage and structure

Reinforcing missing tissue comes first

  • Clearing adhered scar tissue
  • Rebuilding the structure with autologous cartilage grafts (ear, septal, rib cartilage, etc.) where needed
  • Design considering the balance of tip and bridge
  • Fine adjustment with symmetry in mind
03

Tissue stabilisation and stage-by-stage recovery care

Results are completed during recovery

  • Close care of blood flow and tissue condition
  • Swelling and recovery care
  • Follow-up to prevent complications
  • Long-term line maintenance

Recovery

  1. Right after treatment

There is swelling and bruising; the nasal splint stays on and cold compresses are used.

  2. During recovery

The splint and stitches are removed. While the main swelling subsides, avoid pressure on the nose such as from glasses.

  3. As it settles

As residual swelling in the tip subsides, the final shape appears.

Recovery time and follow-up visits vary with the extent of treatment and your individual condition.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

My nasal implant shows through. What can be done?
We consider reselecting the implant and reinforcing the supporting tissue, or removing it and rebuilding with your own tissue. An implant that shows through or can be felt often means its size or material does not fit, or the soft tissue covering it has thinned.
When can contracted nose revision be done?
We reconstruct once the skin has softened enough. Depending on the condition, the surgery may be done in stages.
Where will the scar be?
For the nose, scars are mostly inside the nostrils or on the columella, and we manage them so they fade over time.

※ Bleeding, infection, inflammation and other side effects may occur after surgery or treatment. Please decide after a full consultation with your doctor.
