Tip revision is not simply raising a tip that has dropped.

Cartilage grafted in a previous operation is often absorbed or deformed, and scar tissue can tighten the cartilage into a pinched tip or asymmetry, so revision has to start from different conditions than a first operation.

Bonita's tip revision starts by accurately assessing the remaining cartilage and support structure. By reinforcing what is missing, it aims for a natural tip line that stays stable.

For You

If these concerns sound familiar

  • If the tip has become low or blunt again
  • If a pinched, unnatural-looking tip (pinched nose) concerns you
  • If the tip or nostrils look asymmetric
  • If the tip droops or looks bent after previous tip surgery
  • If you want a thorough consultation and analysis before revision

BONITA NOSE

Before raising it again, support first

Why

Why is tip revision not a simple re-correction?

01

Tip revision must start again from support

Cartilage grafted in a previous operation is often absorbed or weakened. Simply raising the tip again without enough support can let drooping return over time.

02

Deformity caused by scar tissue (pinched nose) must also be considered

When scar tissue tightens around the tip cartilage, it can create a pinched look or an upturned nose. Clearing the scar tissue and repositioning the cartilage are needed together.

03

Asymmetry and remaining tissue volume must be assessed together

A bend in the lower septum or a graft that has slipped or kinked can cause asymmetry. The remaining tissue and symmetry must be assessed together for safe reconstruction.

Process

How nasal tip revision proceeds

01

Analysis of anatomical causes and proportions

Design begins with accurate analysis

  • Check of previous surgical method and the cartilage or implant used
  • Assessment of remaining cartilage and scar tissue
  • Check for pinched nose or left-right asymmetry
  • Analysis of skin thickness and blood flow
  • Tailored revision plan
02

Tailored correction centred on cartilage and structure

Reinforcing missing support comes first

  • Clearing scar tissue and releasing adhesions
  • Rebuilding tip support with autologous cartilage grafts (ear, septal, rib cartilage, etc.)
  • Repositioning cartilage with symmetry in mind
  • Tip design considering balance with the bridge
03

Tissue stabilisation and stage-by-stage recovery care

Results are completed through a stable recovery

  • Care to prevent recurrent inflammation
  • Tissue stabilisation and swelling care
  • Follow-up system
  • Long-term line maintenance

Recovery

  1. Right after treatment

There is swelling and bruising; the nasal splint stays on and cold compresses are used.

  2. During recovery

The splint and stitches are removed. While the main swelling subsides, avoid pressure on the nose such as from glasses.

  3. As it settles

As residual swelling in the tip subsides, the final shape appears.

Recovery time and follow-up visits vary with the extent of treatment and your individual condition.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

My tip has drooped again. Can it just be raised again?
Simply raising the tip without enough support can lead to the same problem recurring. Previously grafted cartilage has often been absorbed or weakened, so we reassess the support first.
Can you also look at a tip that looks pinched?
Yes. In a pinched nose, scar tissue often constricts the tip cartilage, so we decide on the method after checking both the scar tissue and the cartilage.
Where will the scar be?
For the nose, scars are mostly inside the nostrils or on the columella, and we manage them so they fade over time.
